The opening of the new summer season forms the beginning of the fifteenth anniversary of Theme park Toverland. The festive birthday season starts on 19 March, a season the park wants to celebrate with its guests.
The ambitious family business looks back on 15 magical years. With as highlights the opening of the largest wooden roller coaster of the Benelux Troy (2007) and the enchanting theme area the Magische Vallei (2013), for which the theme park received many international awards.
On 19 May 2001 Theme park Toverland opened its doors for the first time to reveal a world full of magic. Director and co-founder Caroline Kortooms looks back: “When we started Toverland we knew that this was the start of something big. And now after 15 years, Toverland has grown up and we know that it’s still not finished yet, we can still create many more happy experiences…the sky is the limit.
Last year almost 700,000 guests enjoyed a carefree day out. Toverland wants to create moments of happiness with each guest, young and old. We do this by immersing our guests in themed attractions, beautiful nature, the extended offer of food and drink and stunning shows. But especially because of our staff members. ‘The real power of Toverland has been the power and ownership of our staff for 15 years’, says Caroline Kortooms.
These people also make the difference during our special events. The popularity of for example the Midsummer Evenings and the Halloween Nights has grown enormously for the past few years. This anniversary year we want to treat lavishly by organising eight Midsummer Evenings and eight Halloween Nights. Besides that, we organise a true OktoVerfeest in the Biergarten of Toverland and we end this year with a splashing New Year’s Eve party on 31 December.
From 19 March lots of attention will be paid inside the park to marking our birthday. The park is festively decorated and of course our mascot Toos Toverhoed celebrates our birthday with us in a special edition of the Toos Tovershow.
‘This season must become a real party for our guests. We have a few magic deals for them like: when you come to Toverland on your birthday, you can enter for free. We also organise a large charity event in June, but more about this later’, says Pieter Huijsmans, Head Marketing.
