Toverland has had the honour to receive two Diamond ThemePark Awards today. The theme park won the award for ‘Best New in the theme parks (EU)’ with their spectacular wing coaster Fēnix. The professional jury also gave the Spotlight Award to Toverland, which is given each year to a park that knows how to take centre stage.
Toverland invested over 35 million euros last year to create a new entrance with the name Port Laguna and a new theme area called Avalon. The forty metres tall wing coaster Fēnix, which already received multiple awards, is also part of this gigantic expansion. Communications Manager Tessa Maessen is very proud of this beautiful result. “These awards are a feather in the cap of our entrepreneurship and also a wonderful appreciation of our team’s efforts and our new themed areas."
This is not the first time that Toverland receives an award. Last year, the theme park received nine international awards. Based on hundreds of reviews and judged by a professional jury, Toverland was pronounced Best Theme Park in Europe in both Spain and Germany.
The Diamond ThemePark Awards are an initiative of various Dutch and Belgian theme park websites. The awards are given by a professional jury and a fan jury. This year they received almost 47,000 votes of which the majority came from the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The Spotlight Award is, according to the jury, a reward for Toverland’s rebranding, the creation of themed areas Port Laguna and Avalon, and the opening of new top attractions.
