Theme park Toverland reachable this summer by shuttle bus
A special Arriva shuttle bus will ride between train station Horst-Sevenum and Theme park Toverland during the summer holidays. This is a trial. This trial, which also takes place during the autumn holiday, allows us to see how big the demand for transport to Toverland is.
At this moment, Theme park Toverland is not reachable by bus from nearest train station Horst-Sevenum during weekends, holidays and public holidays. “And these are exactly the times in which we receive the most visitors and want to be reachable by public transport”, says Benny Steijvers, Operational Director. Therefore he contacted the province of Limburg and company Arriva. Both parties are aware of the importance to be able to reach tourist attractions like Toverland and entered into a partnership to start a trial with an Arriva shuttle bus between Horst-Sevenum station and Theme park Toverland.
Trial
The summer trial starts on Saturday 15 July and lasts until Sunday 27 August. The bus rides every day between 09.00 – 11.00 and 16.00 – 19.00 hours. During the Midsummer Evenings that take place on six Wednesday evenings during the summer holidays, is Toverland open until 23.00 hours and the shuttle bus will ride until 23.30. The trial continues during the autumn holiday and the Halloween event. A single ticket with OV-card costs € 1.99 and the traveller can also buy a paper ticket from the driver at € 3.00 per ticket.
Benny Steijvers is really pleased with this development. “Corporate Social Responsibility has high priority at Toverland. By cooperating to achieve optimum reachability using public transport, we become reachable for more people and also in a way that has the least impact on the environment.” Another advantage is that the theme park can attract more staff members who rely on public transport. “We are still looking for 40 staff members who can help our Toverteam during the summer holidays.”
