Theme park Toverland can look back on a beautiful 2016. The theme park was able to welcome 682,932 guests during its anniversary year, but there were more highlights. The park celebrated its 15th anniversary, welcomed its 7 millionth visitor, organised a 24-hour roller coaster race for charity and received a visit from the American daredevil Bello Nock.
The opening of the summer season was the start signal of Theme park Toverland’s fifteenth anniversary. A festive birthday season that was celebrated together with its guests. There was a special gift: glossy magazine ‘Betoverd’, a magical magazine full of happiness, passion and a special look into the family business. Also mascot Toos Toverhoed celebrated the birthday with a special edition of the Toos Tovershow.
Last summer, a famous American daredevil with upright hair visited Toverland. The thrilling stunt show Bello Nock ‘World’s Greatest Comic Daredevil’ ensured lots of admiring responses from visitors. Another festive highlight this summer was the 7 millionth guest since our opening on 19 May 2001.
Over 700 daredevils responded to our call: Challengers wanted for 24-hour roller coaster race in the fastest, longest and highest wooden roller coaster of the Benelux. Thirteen of them took part in the Troy Coaster Challenge and collected over € 11,000 euros for charity: Stichting Heppie.
In October we also had eight evenings of our popular Halloween Nights. This year they were even more terrifying: with more scare zones, more characters and a unique zone where visitors were blindfolded. Besides the annual much loved events, Midsummer Evenings and Magical Winter Weeks, also our Sinterklaas celebrations returned to Toverland. A big party full of Zwarte Pieten and with an honoured visit by Sinterklaas himself.
Theme park Toverland celebrates its 15th anniversary throughout the whole winter season. During Toverland Winter, which lasts until 24 March, our 2 indoor theme areas Land van Toos and Magic Forest will be opened. The summer season, with the entire park opened, starts on 25 March this year.
